Ethnography is defined as a qualitative research method that emphasizes understanding the world through community. In practice, however, the field lacks clear direction, forcing the researcher to determine what elicits their definitions of culture and tradition, identifying the 'why' rather than the 'what' in its meaning.

My 'why' lies in my deep south upbringing; the weight of the Mason-Dixon line, religious fundamentalism, and political influence have shaped my outlook just as a physical disability and a deep love for people have. Through photography, interviews, travel, and cultural immersion, I hope to paint a clearer picture of beauty for the unseen, showing the goodness that lies throughout every inch of our humanity.
