EMERSON R. MORRIS
Mississippi always draws me back like a moth to a flame; I care so much for my home and my people. I love my community and everything it encompasses. At its core, I believe community is focused around several main tenets: agriculture, healthcare, education, infrastructure, and the people themselves. While I have insight into these through interviews and jobs I have held, I want to explore how to share these stories with others around the world. I hope to learn about effective storytelling, advocacy, and collaboration skills to improve the sustainability of the impact I can make in my state. I hope to use photography and writing as a place to showcase the world around me.

​After I receive my undergraduate degree, I plan to attend graduate school, pursuing a Master’s degree in public service. I look forward to devoting my life to those I love most: the overlooked, the misunderstood- the Mississippians, the beautiful people I call my family.
